William Alexander Aleman, Construction Project Manager

As construction project manager for HDC, William Alexander (“Alex”) Aleman works with nonprofit organizations and housing authorities to develop successful, sustainable affordable-housing and community-facility projects. Alex brings a focus on meeting the needs of end users, including residents who have special needs and disabilities, and has a passion for using green technologies to alleviate residents’ housing costs. He serves on HDC’s equity team, a cross-departmental group responsible for assuring that HDC’s organizational policies and culture reflect principles of equity and inclusion. Alex has nearly a decade of experience in the construction industry, with a primary focus on managing multifamily rehabilitation projects. Prior to joining HDC in 2017, Alex worked as a project manager for Courtesy Restoration, where he managed construction of large apartment renovation projects. His previous experience includes working as a national account manager for a facilities maintenance company, as a general contractor responsible for coordinating construction of stormwater-runoff areas for the City of Los Angeles, and as an urban planner assistant for the City of Salem, Oregon. Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in politics, with a focus on environmental policies and tax credits, from Willamette University. He is currently completing a master’s degree in real estate development from Portland State University.
