With its 106.5 kW photovoltaic system, public plaza, and ground-floor retail and dining establishments, 72Foster provides 101 units of affordable housing while supporting community livability in southeast Portland’s transitioning, culturally diverse Foster-Powell neighborhood. As sponsor REACH Community Development’s construction project manager, HDC worked with Holst Architecture and LMC Construction to support REACH in making cost-conscious design choices aligned with resident and community priorities and to turn a unique site challenge into a design opportunity.
